Family Service Saskatoon meets the diverse needs of the community by developing and providing programming that creates resilience for individuals and families that need support. Key programming includes counselling services, outreach services, and group therapeutic sessions - all designed to respond to the emotional, psychological, and behavioral needs of clients. We provide approximately 700 hours of group sessions and 3500 hours of counselling annually.
Family Service Saskatoon provides critical support to Saskatoon and region residents as they learn skills to overcome the day-to-day challenges of family breakdown, parenting, Intimate partner violence, abuse, recovery from addictions, anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns. The majority of our services are provided free of charge or at a nominal fee thanks to the generosity of our funders and donors like you. Thank you for your care!
Our vision is healthy families contributing to a strong community. We strive to remove barriers to accessing quality services for those who might otherwise be unable to access resources as a result of poverty, racism, or discrimination. All counselling and group activities are provided by professional counsellors using a client-centered model that fosters client safety, respect, cultural safety, and empowerment. How You Can Help
Mental health concerns have increased significantly during the Covid-19 pandemic and have also created stress on relationships. Family Service Saskatoon is urgently seeking additional funding to assist in the establishment of walk-in counselling locations in key points throughout Saskatoon and surrounding communities. The locations provide complimentary one-hour counselling sessions that address the immediate concerns and needs of the individual and assist with identification of community services and supports to provide additional support as required.
It is cold out there, additional warm weather gear is very helpful.
We have no urgent needs at this time.
Through the generous support of our funders and donors, Family Service Saskatoon is able to meet the diverse needs of the community by developing and delivering programs that help create resilience for individuals and families that need support. A significant portion of our services are delivered free of charge or on a sliding scale to ensure that there are no barriers to participation. Your financial support makes this possible and changes lives!
